Taste of Trinidad
Although situated just 32 km south/west from Tobago, Trinidad is a totally different world: cosmopolitan, hustling and bustling, full of energy on one side and nature oriented on the other.
We came up with a cocktail of activities to help you appreciate both sides of the island in one day.
After a 20 min. flight we’ll go to Asa Wright Nature Center, located in the Arima Valley at an altitude of 1200 ft., part of Trinidad’s northern range. The 200 acre estate is one of the most important conservation areas and wildlife sanctuaries in the Caribbean. Here you’ll enjoy a variety of birds and other native animals, on a guided tour of the estate’s nature trails.
Next a good local lunch!
In the afternoon you can chose, sightseeing along the north coast of Trinidad, visit Maracas Bay and stop in the capital Port of Spain, or do the “city thing” first and than go to the Caroni swamp bird sanctuary, home of the flaming scarlet Ibis, experiencing a ride through a maze of waterways in the mangrove swamp.
Trips to the Pitch Lake are also available upon request.
